What End of Days is

End of Days: Tower Defense is a tower defense game for iPhone and iPad. The machines won the war; you hold the roads into the last human city. You build towers on fixed plots beside the enemy lanes, read each wave before it arrives, and upgrade towers along lines that fork into specialists.

It plays offline, in landscape, with no account. It needs iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 or later. There are no ads.

Your first deployment

From the main menu, tap Campaign and start Sector 1, Checkpoint Vesper. The first mission walks you through the basics with on-board tutorial hints: placing a tower, reading the wave preview, upgrading, and calling a wave.

  • The main menu also holds Survival, Research, Achievements, the Codex and Settings.
  • If you leave in the middle of a mission, a Resume Deployment card appears at the top of the main menu.
  • To see the tutorial again, open Settings → Gameplay → Onboarding and choose Replay onboarding. Tutorial hints can be switched off in the same place.

How a level works

  • Build. Tap an open plot and pick a tower from the build rail at the bottom of the screen. Towers cost scrap, which you earn by destroying machines.
  • Read the wave. The Inbound list shows the waves that are coming and what kind each one is — swarm, air, armoured, fast, elite, boss. There are six damage types and six armour types, so the right tower for the next wave matters more than the most expensive one.
  • Upgrade and fork. Each tower line climbs three tiers and then splits into two specialists. Choosing one closes the other for that tower.
  • Call waves early. Sending the next wave before its countdown ends pays bonus scrap. Scrap you leave in the bank earns interest.
  • Sell. A tower can be sold for a partial refund.
  • Hold the core. A machine that reaches the core costs you population. A leak costs lives, not the run — the mission is lost only when the population reaches zero.
  • Speed. 1× and 2× are available from the start. 3× unlocks when you clear Act II.
  • Abilities. Five battlefield abilities — Orbital Flare, Repair Surge, Overclock, Stasis Net and Null Pulse — can be called in during a fight.

What's free, and what the Full Campaign adds

End of Days is free to download. Act I is free to play, and one in-app purchase — the Full Campaign — opens the rest. There is nothing else to buy.

Free — Act I

  • Campaign: 4 missions — Checkpoint Vesper, Halloran Interchange, Rust Yard 9 and The Culvert Line.
  • Survival: on the four Act I boards.
  • Towers: the Autogun, Mortar, CIWS, Tesla and Salvage lines, plus the Floodlight Pylon.
  • Difficulties: Salvage, Standard and Hardened.
  • Research: the full research tree.

The Full Campaign adds

  • Campaign: Acts II–V — 16 more missions, for 20 in all.
  • Survival: all 20 boards, against every machine and every boss.
  • Towers: seven more lines — Rampart, Cryo, Flame, Jammer, Command, Acid and Doomsday.
  • Difficulties: Judgement and Singularity.
  • Research: the same tree — what you have already earned carries over.

The purchase buys content, never power: nothing you can pay for makes your towers stronger. There are no ads, no energy timers, no premium currency and no subscriptions.

Buying, restoring and refunds

Buying the Full Campaign

Tap any locked act on the campaign map, or Unlock Full Campaign on the main menu or in Settings → Data. The unlock screen shows the price for your country before you confirm. It is a one-time purchase — $6.99 in the U.S. storefront — handled by the App Store. It is not a subscription and it never renews. Everything opens as soon as the purchase completes; there is no need to restart the game.

A Survival run that is already in progress when you buy keeps the rules it started with. Your next run uses the full roster.

Restoring on another device

Open Settings → Data → Restore Purchases. The same button is on the unlock screen. The purchase belongs to your Apple Account, so use the same Apple Account you bought it with.

Family Sharing

The Full Campaign supports Family Sharing. If a family organiser has purchase sharing switched on, family members can open it with Restore Purchases on their own devices.

Ask to Buy

If your Apple Account uses Ask to Buy, the unlock screen shows Waiting for approval after you request the purchase. The campaign opens when the request is approved — you don't need to keep the screen open.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a refund is granted, Acts II–V lock again; your stars, research and salvage are left untouched.

Survival

Survival is the endless mode: one board, no wave limit, and a run that lasts until your lines break. As the pressure rises you draft contingency cards, and your best scores are kept on a leaderboard that lives on your device — it is not online.

  • Survival unlocks when you clear any level on Standard difficulty or above. Each board opens for Survival once you have cleared it on Standard or above.
  • Without the Full Campaign, Survival is played on the four Act I boards with the Act I tower kit, against a roster that kit can answer. With the Full Campaign it is every machine and every boss on all 20 boards.
  • The two kinds of run are scored on separate leaderboards, so they are never ranked against each other.

Stars, salvage and research

  • Stars. Each mission awards up to three: one for holding the sector, a second for keeping at least 60% of your population, and a third for losing none at all. The target for the second star is shown before you deploy. Stars are per mission, not per difficulty. The Salvage difficulty awards two at most.
  • Salvage. Every run banks salvage, which you spend in Research.
  • Research. A 44-node tree across four branches. Research is permanent and applies to every later run.
  • New towers and difficulties open as you clear missions. The build rail shows what each locked tower is waiting for.

Saves and your data

  • Your campaign, stars, research, settings, Survival scores and any run in progress are stored on your device only.
  • There is no account and no cloud sync of ours. The game has no server.
  • The save is part of your normal iPhone or iPad backup. Restoring a backup to a new device brings your progress with it.
  • Deleting the game deletes its save. The Full Campaign is not affected — restore it after reinstalling.
  • To wipe your progress and start again, use Settings → Data → Reset progress. You have to type ERASE to confirm, and it cannot be undone.

Settings and accessibility

Settings is on the main menu and in the pause menu. It has five sections:

SectionWhat's there
AudioMaster, Music and Effects levels · Reduce loud sounds · Mute in background
VisualScreen shake · Damage numbers (off, merged, or every hit) · Effect quality · High contrast · Show frame rate
AccessibilityColour filter (Protanopia, Deuteranopia, Tritanopia) with a live preview · Reduce motion · Haptics · Larger hit targets
GameplayPreferred speed · Auto-send next wave · Show tower ranges · Tutorial hints · Replay onboarding
DataYour service record and the build number · Restore default settings · Unlock Full Campaign · Restore Purchases · Reset progress

Enemy and damage types are told apart by shape as well as colour, so the colour filter changes colours only. Reduce motion follows the system setting by default and can be overridden. Menus and the HUD carry VoiceOver labels.

Restore default settings resets the options on the Settings screen and leaves your campaign alone.

Troubleshooting

The unlock screen says "The store isn't reachable right now."

  • Check your internet connection, then tap Try again. Buying and restoring are the only things in the game that need a connection.
  • Check that in-app purchases are allowed: iOS Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → iTunes & App Store Purchases.

I bought the Full Campaign but Acts II–V are still locked

  • Open Settings → Data → Restore Purchases.
  • If it reports that no purchase was found on this Apple Account, check which Apple Account the device is signed in to under iOS Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases.
  • If the purchase shows as Waiting for approval, it is an Ask to Buy request that hasn't been approved yet.

I can't hear anything

  • Check the Master, Music and Effects sliders in Settings → Audio, and your device volume.
  • Mute in background silences the game whenever it isn't the app in front.

The game is too busy to read, or runs slowly

  • Lower Effect quality and Screen shake in Settings → Visual, and set Damage numbers to merged or off.
  • Turn on Reduce motion and High contrast if the effects get in the way of reading the board.

Buttons are hard to hit

  • Turn on Larger hit targets in Settings → Accessibility.

How do I check the version?

  • Open Settings → Data. The version and build number are shown as Build under Profile.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we expect most, answered in short. The sections above go into more detail on each.

Is End of Days free?

End of Days is free to download, and Act I is free to play: four full missions, plus endless Survival on those four boards. One in-app purchase, the Full Campaign, unlocks everything else. There are no ads, no energy timers, no premium currency and no subscriptions.

What does the Full Campaign unlock, and what does it cost?

The Full Campaign is a single one-time purchase — $6.99 in the U.S. storefront; the App Store and the in-game unlock screen show the exact price for your country before you confirm. It opens Acts II–V (16 more missions), seven more tower lines, five more bosses, the Judgement and Singularity difficulties, and full Survival on all 20 boards. It is not a subscription and it never renews.

How do I restore the Full Campaign on a new device?

Open Settings from the main menu, go to Data, and tap Restore Purchases. The same button is on the Full Campaign unlock screen. The purchase belongs to your Apple Account, not to the device, so being signed in with the same Apple Account is all it takes. Restoring the purchase does not move your progress — that travels with a device backup.

Do I need an internet connection to play?

No. End of Days plays fully offline and there is no account to create. The only time the game needs a connection is when you buy or restore the Full Campaign, which goes through the App Store.

Where is my progress saved, and can I move it to a new iPhone or iPad?

Progress is saved on your device only. There is no account and no cloud sync of our own. The save is included in your normal iPhone or iPad backup, so restoring a backup to a new device brings your campaign with it. Deleting the game deletes its save.

Can I quit in the middle of a wave?

Yes. The game saves the run as you play. If you quit or get interrupted mid-wave, a Resume Deployment card on the main menu puts you back on the same board at the same point.

How do I unlock Survival?

Clear any level on Standard difficulty or above. Survival then opens on each board once you have cleared it on Standard or above, and it runs with no wave limit until your lines break. Without the Full Campaign, Survival is played on the four Act I boards; the Full Campaign opens all 20.

How do I reset my progress?

Open Settings, go to Data, and choose Reset progress. You are asked to type ERASE to confirm. It erases every star, every research node, every commendation and all banked salvage, and it cannot be undone. It does not remove the Full Campaign, which stays with your Apple Account.

How do I get a refund for the Full Campaign?

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, or from your purchase history in the App Store. If a refund is granted, Acts II–V lock again, but none of your progress is deleted.

Does End of Days collect any data about me?

No. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the game has no server of ours to send anything to. Your progress stays on your device.

Which devices does End of Days run on?

iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 or later. The game plays in landscape.
